Why We Choose Glass Over Plastic

Plastic Bottles

On average, humans buy more than 1 million plastic water bottles every minute. Only 1% of those water bottles will be recycled. Beyond that, only 9% of all plastic is recycled on our planet. For us, the decision to use glass containers was an easy one, for several reasons.

Your Health

We put the health of your body above all else. Plastic bottles and containers commonly contain harmful chemicals like BPA, phthalate, PVC, or polycarbonate, which leach into the contents that you consume. Little by little, these chemicals can affect the health of your body in several different ways. Glass is one of the only packaging materials to be considered regulation-safe by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. Made from all-natural, raw, sustainable materials, glass is 100% recyclable without compromising the quality of purity.

Earth’s Health

Made from abundant natural resources like sand and glass waste, glass is a material that can be continuously recycled without releasing toxins into the Earth. And on average, glass is recycled much more than plastic, with rates varying from 50 to 80 percent. Because it is 100% recyclable, the glass recycled is put back into the manufacturing process and turned into material to be used in glass products over and over again, significantly preserving raw materials and using less manufacturing energy - reducing your overall carbon footprint.

Better Quality & Flavor

Glass is odorless and tasteless, while plastic omits a slight chemical taste that can leach its way into your food and drinks. As if that weren’t enough, glass is also inherently a better choice when considering the shelf life and quality of the ingredients you store, helping to maintain the integrity of ingredients and their inherent properties.

If you choose not to recycle your glass bottles, we invite you to reuse them over and over again. One of our favorite advantages of glass over plastic is its durability. Over time, plastic containers have scratches, discoloration, or disfiguration. Unless dropped, our glass bottles will last you a lifetime.

Some will argue that using plastic is more convenient or cost-efficient, we believe in doing everything we can to keep our customers and planet safe. We are uncompromising in our commitment, with a facility that is powered 100% by renewable resources, and doing our part to keep plastic out of our bodies, oceans, and landfills. In our minds, we think that the price to choose glass over plastic is a small one considering the price we will pay if we continue depleting our planet’s resources and environment.
