From our family to yours

Since Dr. Helene Dünner founded her company in 1948, we’ve been a family-owned Swiss company passionate about the restorative effects of plants and herbs. For over four generations, we’ve been inspired by the majesty of Switzerland’s rolling hills and breathtaking mountain landscapes. We’re also inspired by the hardworking Alpine farmers whom we’ve come to trust and love as family.

Our Story 01 Mountains

Fresh, sustainably sourced, non-GMO herbs are our passion because our mission is to give nature the reverence it deserves.

If we have less of a product one year, it’s not because those ingredients aren’t available—it’s because those herbs wouldn’t be coming from a farmer we know and trust personally. We will always know the entire value chain of our products. Your family deserves the highest-quality herbal supplements, and our family works hard to produce them.

A tradition of Swiss excellence

Our Story 03 Team

Switzerland has a centuries-old tradition of herbalism, and we’re invested in rediscovering the ancient wisdom that modern medicine overlooks. Our philosophy marries nature with science, leveraging knowledge of traditional European herbal medicine with the latest scientific research and production techniques. We can be positive that our herbs adhere to the strictest quality standards thanks to our close ties to our suppliers and Switzerland’s ban on genetically modified organisms. Then, our expert herbalists refine our products with utmost respect for plant integrity—just like our ancestors did, but better.

Our commitment to sustainability

On our way to becoming a zero-emission business, our commitment to nature is in our DNA

We power our facility with 100% renewable energy from hydroelectric power plants in the Swiss Alps. We never use artificial fertilizers. We bottle our concentrates in recyclable glass that doesn’t leach chemicals into the earth or the body like plastic does. Glass packaging is far less cost-effective than plastic; however, we believe the cost is a small price to pay to keep plastic toxins out of our oceans and our earth. We have a vision for the future: a healthy planet with a flourishing natural environment. We’re too small to change the world alone, but that doesn’t stop us from doing our best.

Our deliberate process

While you’ll find Dr. Dünner in over 20 countries, all essential stages of production take place right here in Switzerland. That means from plant to product, you can trust that your herbs didn’t have to travel very far.

  • Harvesting

Our trusted farmers have advanced knowledge of each microclimate across Switzerland, and harvest herbs with expert timing.

  • Drying

We dry our herbs in small batches, as our specialists monitor the process closely.

  • Extraction

Each product’s extraction process is custom-tailored to the herbs used. Our herbalists account for every variable in order to maximize the health-supporting properties of each plant.

  • Tasting

We balance our blends to account for both healthful ingredients and enjoyable taste. Rather than sourcing cheap synthetic juices, we use juices of plants like Swiss Baselbiet cherries—whose high stems create sanctuary for birds that nest farther from the ground.

  • Packaging

All of our packaging is FSC-certified, ensuring that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.
